Hamilton Ontario is still under an extreme cold temperature warning. With that, the police and paramedics are advising people to bundle up and dress warm. But what about Hamilton’s most vulnerable?
The Salvation Army actually has a truck that drives around and makes 3 stops a night 365 days a year. During this extreme cold warning, the truck has been out and about to offer hot soup, blankets, sweaters, towels, socks and more to the homeless.
During a time where you or myself couldn’t fathom being stuck out in the cold all night, that’s some people’s reality. It’s fantastic to have this program in place for those who need this. The Salvation army has been doing an amazing job looking out for those who need it the most. Let’s all remember that they are humans just like me and you.
For those of you who may have a chance to read this and need to use the truck for hot soup, warm drinks and/or maybe that extra little bit of clothing, the truck stops are listed below with the times they stop. The Salvation Army is open to helping anyone/everyone if needed. Please don’t hesitate to stop by.
