SIU: Officer Not Charged

On February 14, 2018, a Toronto Police Service officer was dispatched to a car dealership on Dufferin St as a 75-year-old woman refused to leave the premises. After speaking with the woman for almost 20 minutes and asking her to leave, the officer grabbed the woman’s arm to turn her around and escort her out of the dealership. The woman fell and sustained a serious injury. The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Tony Loparco, has determined there are no reasonable grounds to lay criminal charges against the officer in this case.
