Niagara Regional Police Officer Charged with Sexual Assault


A Niagara Regional Police veteran is facing sexual assault charges in relation to a massage business he allegedly ran from his Port Colborne home while on administrative leave. Constable David Kukoly was arrested on Wednesday and charged with FIVE counts of sexual assault. At a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, the 50-year-old man was released from custody on more than a $2,000 bail. His next court date is February 20th in Welland.

The Port Colborne based officer held his head in his hands while in the prisoner box as the court heard the details surrounding the charges. Information revealed during the hearing can not be reported under a publication ban. Conditions of Kukoly’s release is that he NOT have contact with the victims, not have any weapons in his possession and to not be involved in any services that provide massage therapy.

According to the press release issued by the Niagara Regional Police service late Wednesday, the investigation began in early December after allegations of sexual assault were brought forward. The incidents are said to have taken place while Kukoly was off duty. Police allege that Kukoly identified himself on a Facebook profile as Dave Allen and operated under the page named Massage by Dave. In accordance with protocol, he has been suspended with pay.

The investigators of this situation believe that there may be more victims and are appealing to anyone to come forward.
