McMaster Assistant Wrestling Coach Charged!

An assistance coach for McMaster's wrestling program has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.


Hamilton Police Service (HPS) have arrested and charged a 47-year-old Hamilton male for sexual assault. The investigation was conducted after a woman came forward to report the incidents. Police believe that there may be more victims out there!

On April 24 2019, 47-year-old Robert Betz was arrested on two counts of sexual assault in relation to offences which occurred between 2009 and 2014. An adult female victim from McMaster University where he served as an assistant wrestling coach came forward which triggered this investigation. Police believe at this time there may be more victims out there who have yet to come forward.
