Jackson Square Stabbing Suspect Caught


Hamilton Police have located a 20-year-old male in relation with a stabbing that happened outside of Jackson Square last Friday. Douglas Barker is set to appear in court today to answer to the charges laid against him.

On June 21st, 2019 around 16:00, Hamilton Police, Fire and EMS were dispatched to Jackson Square for an assault call. A 20-year-old Stoney creek male was located in front of the doors at King Street West and James Street North. The patient was transported to the hospital with serious injuries believed to have been caused by a stabbing. As the patient was transported, the scene was being secured by police waiting for forensics and cleanup crews. Throughout the investigation, the suspect was identified. Police have confirmed that the suspect and the victim are both known to each other.

On June 26th 2019, police have located the suspect known as Douglas Barker a 20-year-old Hamilton Man. He was located at a residence near Wilson Street and Wellington Street North. He has since been charged with aggravated assault and failure to comply with recognizance.
